Looking ahead to the first round of the 2024 season!

05 April 2024

Trackday Championship’s long-awaited return is now just a couple of weeks away!

On April 20, the tremendous Donington Park National circuit will welcome Trackday Championship competitors for the opening round of the 2024 season. A packed grid, containing three classes of production saloon, hatchback, and sports car racers, will all be keen to start their campaigns in the best way possible. Expect the battle for each class podium position to be as competitive as ever, with a strong mix of both new and returning faces all set to feature.

Donington Park is a favourite for a large number within the Trackday Championship paddock, thanks to its thrilling combination of challenging curves and fast, flowing straights. The first half of the lap will test both man and machinery, as competitors search for every tenth available through Redgate and the fantastic combination of Craner Curves and Old Hairpin. While the Leicestershire circuit does pose a number of different tests, it also offers plenty in the way of driver satisfaction and enjoyment. Add it being a season opener into the mix, there’s plenty to be excited about for our visit to Donington Park.

After an exhilarating race at Silverstone twelve months ago, it was Datum Motorsport’s Steve Summers who claimed overall victory on his Trackday Championship debut! Will it be another newcomer who wins this year, or will it be a driver already familiar with the championship? Perhaps it could be reigning Champion Stewart Donovan, who returns to Trackday Championship in 2024 in hope of retaining his title. The new #1 driver put in a number of highly impressive performances over the course of last season and will be aiming to replicate this fine form at Donington Park. It’ll be fascinating to see who comes out on top.

Let’s get this season started in style.
